Wow. So it's been pretty busy lately. Let me just say, that I have completely finished ALL, yes ALL of my Jesusmas shopping.
Why do I call it Jesusmas? Well, besides the fact that it was on a billboard sign I saw, it's because the root of Christmas is "Christ", is it not? So I might as well call is Jesusmas. Now, I'm not really a religious person, I prefer the word "spiritual." I don't believe that Jesus was the son of God, I honestly don't believe most of the things written in the bible. I don't believe them - literally that is. I think Jesus, and thus forth, the cross, the crucifiction, is merely a metaphor. It's a moral message, and in my opinion, not a matter of your religion. It tells me that often in life, you'll be challanged. People will judge you harshly, people will persecute you, and peole will attack you based on your beliefs, and on how you want to live your life. I learn that even though sometimes you might be beaten down, (Jesus dies), you still make an inpact. And if you believe strongly enough in yourself, and in what you are fighting for, you can always stand back up. Jesus came back (apparently) to finish the work he had not yet finished.
That's what Christmas (Jesusmas) should be about. We should support each other. Let's not persecute each other for our beliefs. We should give each other the room to believe in what we want to belive in. Christmas (Jesusmas) should be about life, and love, as opposed to money (which separates people) opposition.
So, with the intention of keeping my eyes on my Christmas goals, and in order to remember what Christmas should really be about, I will continue to refer to Christmas as Jesusmas.
